A full-time faculty member at Boston University's College of General Studies since 1984 and Director of its Institute for the Study of the Origins of Civilization, Robert is also one of ORACUL’s co-founders. Dr. Schoch is pleased to co-lead ORACUL’s Zep Tepi (The First Time) Tour. Dr. Schoch has devoted his life to the study of Earth, its creatures, and, for the past 30 years, its most ancient civilizations, stunning the world in 1991 with his revolutionary research that recast the date of the Great Sphinx of Egypt to a period thousands of years earlier than its standard attribution. In demonstrating geologically that the leonine monument has been heavily eroded by water despite the fact that its location on the edge of the Sahara has endured hyper-arid climactic conditions for the past 5,000 years, Dr. Schoch revealed to the world that mankind’s history is greater and older than previously believed. Inspired by a passionate desire to share his wisdom, Mohamed offers a wide spectrum of knowledge regarding the history, arts, literature, and culture of the ancient Egyptians. Mohamed was born in Memphis, Egypt, and studied Art and History (Ancient Egyptian, Coptic, Islamic) at Helwan University in Cairo. He has been working as a tour guide and a teacher of hieroglyphics since 2000. Mohamed’s comprehensive knowledge of Ancient Egypt, along with his background in comparative religions and spiritual studies, has enabled him to fill lecture halls and conduct a variety of successful tours over the years.
